A deeply rooted Central Swiss folklore tradition on the historic village square of Stans beneath Mount Stanserhorn. The arrival of Samichlaus is preceded by dozens of synchronized whip-crackers ('Geisslechlepfer'), towering illuminated bishop mitres ('Iffelen'), and rhythmic alpine bell-ringers.
