Solothurn Carnival

During carnival, Solothurn goes by its nickname 'Honolulu' for a week of Guggen music, costumes and parades in the baroque old town. Things start with the Chesslete, a noisy early-morning procession on the Thursday, and continue with a children's parade, a large Sunday parade and a closing ceremony on the Tuesday evening.
