 ng heavy bells and singing wordless yodels called Zäuerli. The custom is 
 one of the best-known winter traditions in Appenzell Ausserrhoden\, and ne
 ighbouring villages such as Waldstatt\, Hundwil\, Schönengrund and Schwel
 lbrunn keep it too.
